Surface Finish Options for Turned Parts

Turned parts have exceptionally smooth surfaces—lathe-machined cylindrical areas are far smoother than milled ones, a key factor when choosing between the two methods for eligible parts. Live-tooled features (e.g., flats, slots) may show tool marks. Light bead blasting can create a fine matte finish and deburr hard metals (steel, stainless steel) by removing slivers, sharp edges, and roughness.
