Die casting is a process of metal smelting and processing. It is a casting method that fills the cavity of steel mold with molten alloy liquid at high speed under the action of high pressure and solidifies the alloy liquid under pressure to form castings. It is somewhat similar to "plastic injection molding

【1】 What is die casting?

Die casting is a process of metal smelting and processing. It is a casting method that fills the cavity of steel mold with molten alloy liquid at high speed under the action of high pressure and solidifies the alloy liquid under pressure to form castings. It is somewhat similar to "plastic injection molding". The main characteristics of die casting different from other casting methods are high pressure and high speed.

【2】 What are the characteristics of aluminum alloy die casting products?
1. Aluminum alloy can be divided into

Antirust aluminum (LF), hard aluminum (ly), super hard aluminum (LC) and forged aluminum (LD)


2. Cast aluminum alloys are divided into
Aluminum silicon system (Al Si), aluminum copper system (Al Cu), aluminum magnesium system (Al Mg) and aluminum zinc system (Al Zn)

Common brands include ADC12 (A383) and adc10 (A380)


3. Advantages of aluminum alloy die casting

Good product quality: the casting has high dimensional accuracy, good surface finish, high strength and hardness. The strength is generally 25~30% higher than that of sand casting, but the elongation is reduced by about 70%. The size is stable and the interchangeability is good. It can die cast castings with complex aluminum thin wall. 

High production efficiency: the machine has high productivity. For example, the domestic J Ⅲ 3 horizontal cold air die casting aluminum machine can die cast aluminum 600 ~ 700 times per eight hours on average, and the small hot chamber die casting aluminum machine can die cast aluminum 3000 ~ 7000 times per eight hours on average. Excellent economic effect: due to the accurate size of die-casting aluminum parts, the surface is bright and clean. Generally, it is not directly used for machining, or the processing volume is very small, so it not only improves the metal utilization, but also reduces a large number of processing equipment and man hours. The casting price is cheap. Combined die-casting aluminum can be used with other metal or non-metallic materials, which can save both assembly man hours and metal.


4. Defects of aluminum alloy die casting

During die-casting, due to the high filling speed of liquid metal in the mold cavity and unstable flow state, the general die-casting aluminum method is adopted, so the castings are prone to produce air holes and cannot be heat treated. For the castings with complex concave, die casting is difficult. The service life of aluminum alloy die-casting mold is low, and the service life is about 80000 molds. It is not suitable for small batch production. The main reason is that the manufacturing cost of die-casting aluminum mold is high and small batch production is uneconomical. Aluminum alloy die-casting is not easy to realize anodic oxidation. As many bubbles or sand holes are easily left after die-casting, the appearance cannot be well repaired and the appearance cannot be covered after oxidation.


【3】 What surface treatments are available for aluminum alloy die casting

Anodizing: the surface of extruded aluminum alloy profile has poor corrosion resistance, so it is necessary to conduct surface treatment through anodizing to increase the corrosion resistance, wear resistance and appearance aesthetics of aluminum.


Electrophoretic coating: the surface of electrophoretic coating profile is soft and can resist the erosion of cement and mortar acid rain.


Powder electrostatic spraying: the powder electrostatic spraying profile is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance, and the resistance to acid, alkali and salt spray is much better than the oxidation colored profile.


Titanium plating and titanium gold plating process: the titanium gold plating process for aluminum profile belongs to the coating technology. It is to add the pre plating and electroplating process steps on the basis of the conventional titanium plating process. The pre plating process is to put the activated plated parts in the aqueous solution of salt and hydrochloric acid for chemical treatment, so as to produce colorful effects.


Wood grain transfer: the vacuum wood grain coating technology is to transfer the wood grain to the workpiece surface through thermal transfer after the electrostatic spraying of metal products. It is not easy to fade, the wood grain is lifelike, and the blocking times of the product are improved.
