Gears are mainly used to cooperate with shaft parts to transmit motion and torque. They have different shapes and sizes due to different application requirements; Main technical requirements of gears:


1. Gear accuracy and surface roughness

The accuracy of truck transmission shall not be lower than Grade 8, and the surface roughness shall not be greater than RA3 two μ m; The accuracy of car gear shall not be lower than Grade 7, and the surface roughness shall not be greater than ra1 six μ m;

2. Dimensional tolerance and surface roughness of gear hole or axle stiffness

Gear hole or journal is the base surface during machining, measurement and assembly. They have a great impact on the machining accuracy of gear, so it is necessary to have higher machining accuracy and smaller surface roughness value;

3. End face circular runout

The end face of gear blank with hole is the positioning standard during gear cutting. The runout of the end face inner hole on the indexing circle has a great impact on the gear machining accuracy. Therefore, the end face circle runout specifies a small tolerance value;

4. Dimensional tolerance of gear outer circle

When the gear outer circle is not used as the benchmark for machining and measurement, its dimensional tolerance is generally it11, but not greater than 0.1M;

5. Heat treatment requirements of gears

For commonly used low carbon alloy steel, the depth of carburized layer generally depends on the size of gear module.

Gear processing technology

1. When machining the pinion of the double gear with the hob, the distance b between the big gear and the pinion is large enough to prevent the hob from touching the end face of the big gear during machining;

2. When the gear is wide, the end face of the disc gear is often shaped into a groove.

3. When the disc gear is processed on the gear hobbing machine, in order to improve the productivity, multi piece processing is adopted;

4. The structure of axle gear of automobile main reducer can be divided into cantilever type and riding type.
