    Prototyping in production-grade materials

    Complex geometries

    Functional, end-use parts

Reducing metal components in an assembly

  • Stereolithography (SLA)

SLA uses an ultraviolet laser to trace liquid thermoset resin, building parts layer by layer until completion.

    Learn More

parts requiring high accuracy and features as small as 0.002 in.

good surface quality for cosmetic prototypes

    form and fit testing

  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

SLS uses a CO₂ laser to fuse nylon-based powder layer by layer, forming thermoplastic parts.

    Learn More

    jigs and fixtures

    housings

    snap fits and living hinges

  • Multi Jet Fusion (MJF)

Multi Jet Fusion selectively applies fusing/detailing agents on nylon powder beds, heated layer-by-layer to form solid functional parts.

    Learn More

parts requiring consistent isotropic mechanical properties

    functional prototypes and end-use parts

complex and organic geometries with fine features

  • Pressure Die Casting

PolyJet sprays liquid photopolymer droplets via multi-jet nozzles, curing layer by layer into elastomeric parts.

    Learn More

prototyping designs for overmolding or silicone rubber parts

combining two colors or durometers into a single part

    simulating elastomers or flexible parts

  • Advanced Photopolymers

Need advanced mechanical properties beyond SLA/PolyJet? Choose Axtra3D HPS tech’s advanced photopolymers.

Surface Finish Options for 3D Prints

*Swipe right to view all
UnfinishedDots, or standing "nibs," remain evident on the bottom of the part from the support structure remnants.
NaturalSupported surfaces are sanded down to eliminate the support nibs.
Standard Supported surfaces are sanded, and the entire part is finely blasted for a consistent look. Note that the layers are still present.
CustomSoft-touch paint, clear part finishing, painting, masking, color matching, decals/graphic, and texture finishes are available.

Finishing

Looking to boost the strength, clarity, or appearance of your 3D-printed parts? Choose from microfluidic and micro-resolution materials, metal plating, secondary machining, and custom finishes like painting, clear coating, and decaling.

*Swipe right to view all
Clear CoatClear cosmetic finish that can be applied to ABS-Like Translucent/Clear (WaterShed XC 11122) and PC-Like Translucent/Clear (Accura 60) materials.
PaintingAfter smoothing the part with sanding and polishing, parts can be painted with automotive-grade paint. Provide a pantone color with your quote request. We also offer soft-touch painting.
PlatingElectroless nickel plating can be used to achieve parts that are similar to cast aluminum or magnesium.
DyeingDyeing is another method for adding color to 3D prints. This is faster option with a limited color selection, so is a more cost-effective choice than painting.
DecalingDecaling can be used to add a logo or other graphics to boost cosmetics or function.
PolishingWe can polish parts to a mirror-like finish. If this is a requirement, we ask that you provide either a drawing or image that indicates your finish expectations.
Heat TreatmentHarden and strengthen metal 3D prints with multiple heat treatment options: NADCAP heat treatment, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), solution annealing, and aging.
MachiningMachine metal 3D prints to achieve exceptional surface finish quality or meet tight tolerances.

Why Choose Us for Custom 3D Printing?

Unmatched Quality: Expert engineers (1000+ clients) offer design feedback, quality 3D prints & orientation optimization.

Wide Material Selection: Our six 3D printing technologies utilize commercial-grade thermoset resins, thermoplastics, and metal powders, suitable for diverse applications and industries.

What is 3D Printing?

3D printing refers to diverse additive technologies that fabricate parts layer by layer from 3D digital designs. While filament extrusion is common, laser-based sintering/curing of metal/plastic powders or resins is also available, with options tailored to materials, surface quality, cost, and order volume.

Advantages of 3D Printing

Layer-by-layer part fabrication unlocks previously unachievable design possibilities, outperforming traditional processes like molding, machining and casting.

Cost-efficient complex organic geometries

Integrate multi-component designs into one part

No upfront tooling expenses

24-hour fast part manufacturing

Internal structures for advanced heat/flow

Common 3D Printing Applications

Additive manufacturing serves rapid prototyping & production in aerospace, medical, automotive & other key industries. Typical parts include:

Prototyping & Assembly:Form and fit prototypes, Snap fits

Industrial Machinery & Functional Parts:Housings and enclosures,Jigs and fixtures,Heat exchangers and heat sinks,Engine components,Fuel injectors
