Volvo and Geely have partnered to create polestar, an electric car brand that focuses on minimalist aesthetics and professional-grade high-performance driving pleasure. It is currently available in polestar1 and polestar2 models. polestar1 is a plug-in hybrid hardtop sports car priced at around $1.45 million. polestar2 is a compact car priced at $299,800 to $388,800.

The centre console, door interior panels and other parts of the car are wrapped in a large number of soft and fabric materials, and the sense of class speaks for itself. It is matched with a 64kWh battery pack supplied by Ningde Times and has a combined range of 485km under NEDC conditions. The long-range version has a 78kWh battery pack and a maximum range of 565km.


The polestar2's chassis has an independent MacPherson front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension, which is a traditional feature on compact models. The top-of-the-range model also offers variable damping suspension, which filters out vibrations over bumpy roads and provides a comfortable ride for the occupants.

The 2021 polestar2 is also available in a four-wheel drive version with dual front and rear electric motors, both with 150kW of power, giving a combined power of 300kW, and with an intelligent electric four-wheel drive system, the vehicle's acceleration is greatly enhanced. According to official tests, the polestar2 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds, which is comparable to many million-dollar sports cars.
