According to research, for every 10% weight reduction in fuel consumption of a car, fuel consumption will be reduced by 8%, while body weight accounts for about 25%-30% of the weight of the whole car, so in the face of increasingly stringent requirements for energy saving and emission reduction, body weight reduction will make a great contribution to the lightweighting of cars.

Auto body parts

As the most cost-effective lightweight material in the market, the manufacturing cost and manufacturing process of ultra-high-strength steel are more advantageous than carbon fiber and aluminum alloy materials. As ultra-high strength steel is prone to cracking and resilience in the traditional cold stamping manufacturing process, advanced hot stamping technology becomes its optimal choice.

Hot stamping technology is the integration of materials science, mechanics, tooling technology, mechanical development technology, IT and other comprehensive technology, which can transform the steel plate into high strength martensite after stamping and forming in the high temperature austenite zone and quenching and strengthening technology, and its production of high strength steel can ensure to reduce its own weight with the same strength.

The most obvious difference between the hot stamping line and the cold stamping line is that in this line, the steel sheet is heated and then stamped, and quenched and cooled in the mold, so that the parts produced have a strength of more than 1500 MPa, and are therefore called ultra-high strength steel.

Talking about the pattern of hot stamping production line, there are more than 200 hot stamping production lines in the world, excluding the hot stamping production line we have developed successfully - 1200T, there are more than 50 hot stamping production lines in China region

The biggest advantage of hot stamping steel parts is that in addition to providing unparalleled high strength to ensure crash safety, it can also reduce itself while ensuring the same strength performance, which can well balance safety and light weight. First of all, from the imported car market, Volvo models, which are known for their safety, all use 40 hot stamped parts.  The demand for hot stamped steel parts in the market is increasing rapidly in recent years.

In the future, more hot stamping parts will be used for structural body parts, which not only can obtain higher safety performance, but also can significantly reduce the weight of the body. Hot stamping technology has huge development space in the direction of energy-saving and emission-reducing automobile light weight.
